You even get to check your degree equivalency for free from WES. One must check this before applying for WES ECA. Please check it (link below) and see if the results show anything different or possibly throw some more details.

http://www.wes.org/ca/evaluations/preliminary.asp

Wish you good luck! :)

I received an email from WES (based on re-evaluation request) as follows:

"The AICTE is responsible for accreditation/recognition in India. It does not accredit institutions as a whole but rather, individual programs of study. According to our resources, the program you were enrolled in is not accredited"
So should i check with my institute if my 1997 PGDM was accredited by AICTE Or not? It must be bcos back then i was the 3rd batch from the institute and they were AICTE recognized / accredited even back then.

Thanks, did this way back in 2014 before i applied for ECA. Also chexked again recently. For India, it only shows certain universities and only bachelor and masters, no PGDM is available on the list. Thats why we need to get an assessment done.

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right topic to discuss what i'm going throu.

I'm done with IELTS with a band of 7.5 and currently looking for genuine consultants to help me with the process. IPPC(Interglobe Paper Planes Consulting) is offering assistance with the process. I'm unsure if this is genuine. Lemme know who is the best consultant to approach.

Cheers

Seniors, fellow gentlemen,

Quick question - I have done PGDM from a college which was awarded AICTE approval (or the PGDM course was awarded AICTE approval) after I passed out.
Will this be evaluated or recognized as some Canadian equivalent, so that I can claim points for Two or more diploma, degrees.
Anyone who was in this situation and done ECA.
Thanks

I'd answer, but I'm not a gentleman.

LOL but you are a Senior :) So please answer. Thanks
Have you tried checking the WES site to see if your institute is listed? WES might not take into account that you completed it before it was given approval. However I don't really know.

Yes. It's not listed. That's what I am hoping.
Do you think I will have a better chance of getting through with CES vis a vis WES for this. I know its difficult to say but just want to know your opinion. Thanks

Thanks. I guess I will have to take my chances. Too many points are lost without it.

"Two or more degree, diploma or certificate" option has been removed & will not be made available now.

Dear Client,

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The Government made changes to Express Entry, which took effect on November 19, 2016.

Dear Forum Experts,

My husband and I are from India and are in the process of submitting our Express Entry profile/application. We are really confused about selecting the right options for my husband's educational credentials in the Express Entry profile, as we are unable to find the equivalents mentioned in his WES report anywhere on the CIC website/guide/conversion table. We have written to WES as well as CIC for assistance, but to no avail.

My husband's WES ECA report states the following for his Indian educational credentials:
WES Report Educational Summary: Bachelor's Degree (4 years)
1. B.Com from Mumbai University (3 years ) - WES equivalent - Bachelor's Degree (3 years)
2. M.Com from Mumbai University (2 years) - WES equivalent - Bachelor's Degree (4 years) - in conjunction with B.Com completed earlier
3. Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (2 years) - WES equivalent - Completion of a second undergraduate major (No duration mentioned)

We have the following questions:

1. What does the 'Educational Summary' in the WES ECA report mean?

2. Should we be choosing 'Two or more degrees, diplomas or certificates' or 'Bachelor's Degree'?

3. If it's 'Two or more degrees' we should be choosing this option for which out of the 3 educational credentials in the Express Entry profile/application?

4. As the WES equivalent for M.Com mentions 'in conjunction with B.Com completed earlier', can B.Com and M.Com be treated as two separate degrees or should they be considered as one degree only?

5. Can 'Completion of second undergraduate major' can be treated as an independent degree/diploma/certificate? If not, which option for educational equivalent should be selected for it?

Some assistance here would be really very helpful.

Also, would really appreciate if someone with a similar case who has got a PR could share his/her experience. It will give us some certainty.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Best Regards,
Rashmi
Hi,
So what did you do finally?
I stuck to Two Or More Degrees as I understood from the ECA CONVERSION TABLE that any qualification/ study after a Bachelors is counted as Two Or More...
Well, I got OINP Nomination in March, so i guess i was correct!
Now i have submitted eAPR last week... keeping fingers crossed!
Please post your status people, so other newcomers can benefit from our experience!
Cheers

Hello SanKanKun,

By the time we received our ITA, there were changes in the express entry application where in the 'two or more degrees' option itself was removed. So we just chose the Canadian equivalent mentioned in my husband's WES report for each of his degree, as follows:
B.Com - Bachelor's Degree
M.Com - Bachelor's Degree
PGDM (Finance) - Completion of Two years of education at a university

But we did not receive the points for 'two or more degrees' for secondary applicant (my husband is secondary applicant) and received the points for only 'bachelor's degree' for secondary applicant. We have submitted the application with March 20 AOR.

However, I have come across an applicant with the exact 'two or more degrees' dilemma in a Whatsapp group who has submitted her application with 1st Jan AOR and is awaiting PPR (BGIP 31st March 2017). Her GCMS notes indicate that she has cleared all checks including eligibility for education. So given her example, i don't think it should be an issue for you as well.
