Confusion regarding NOC code for my work history

Hi All,

While applying for Express Entry, I mentioned an NOC code (1113) for my primary occupation field (forex dealer). The same NOC code has also been mentioned for my previous job under the work history section. I chose to write the same NOC code as the work duties and responsibilities in my previous job was of “Forex Dealer” same as my current primary job.
Though in my previous job, the job title/designation given to me was of “Financial Analyst” even if the duties were different. Now I’m unable to make a decision whether to keep the same NOC code as the duties for both the jobs were same or to change the NOC code as per Job Title.

Can anyone help me with this major dilemma?

focus on matching the duties with the NOC code rather than the title.
If the duties quoted in the reference letter match with the chosen NOC code, you are good to proceed further.

Thank you for the prompt reply. In my previous "work experience letter" there is no mention of job roles and duties instead there is only one line stating my designation (Financial Analyst) in that period. In this case what shall be done?

that wouldn't work. It is very important to have duties listed.
In this scenario get the reference letter from your Superior/ colleague and get that notarized and also upload their business card

thank you for the suggestion. I'm trying to get in touch with my superior manager for the reference letter. Though the chances look dim, is there any other way? Would I have to decline the ITA, if reference letter cannot be arranged?
