My Husband is here on a Visitor Visa from the UK for 6 months. We are applying outland. But are confused as to the residence address to use. Before he came here he was in the military so that was one of his addresses and he also stayed with his mom in the UK when he was there.
We need to get his police certificates done. What address do we use? He has been here with me since Dec. Do we use his Canadian address? or his moms address?

Thanks :)

He does not yet reside in Canada (he's only visiting) so I think you should use his mom's address in the UK. You can use the Canadian address for his mailing address though.

My husband also staying with me (visitor), and we used my canadian address as his mailing and residential address on the application.

kolibri
They didn't question it?
I suppose for people who live commonlaw they technically are "visiting" but not permanenting living here. Maybe I will attach a letter with both addresses explaining the situation

No, they didn't ask about it.
He came to Canada in october 2009, we got married in January 2010, and applied in March 2010 as spousal sponsorship. As he is from visa exempt country, he didn't have to have a visa and allowed to stay for 6 month. We applied for an extension in March, so he was allowed to stay till November 2010. We met in the USA where he lived for ~7 years, and had to leave US in September 2010. So he went back to his country for only a month, which I wouldn't consider his residential address...
I think you can put either way, don't think it's so relevant.

Awesome. I might call just to make sure. I am just more thinking for the police certificate. I will probably put my address and write them a letter to explain

Police clearance also was sent to my address, as in the cover letter we put canadian address. Don't think this matters.

Great. Thank you so much for your help

Ough, just recalled. He got his driver license exchanging his US driver license, so he has his canadian ID with canadian address already :)

hmmm He still has his UK License. I guess i could always call them and ask what we should do

Thanks for that.

I emailed the customer service at the Police certificate place. I explained the situation and asked what address we should be using so hopefully I we hear from them soon
