Dear Forum members,

Hope you all are fine. My friend has completed her Higher secondary education from India and after that she has done one year Diploma course in Teacher training course in Yoga from a very reputed institute. We were wondering if there are any chances of positive ECA report and immigration thereafter.... Thank you all for taking time to read it and help.

Cheers

You can test the diploma eligibility using the WES equivalency tool http://www.wes.org/ca/immigrants/preliminary.asp

Check out the link Stanlee posted above. There is no such thing as a 'positive' or negative ECA. It is just supposed to tell you what is your education equivalent to in Canada. You get more CRS points for higher education. For your friend, based on what you wrote, it would probably be considered "One Year Degree or Diploma" so she will get 90 points added to her CRS total.

But there are other factors that add to CRS score like age, IELTS score and work experience. She needs to view the link Stanlee posted in detail

Thank You all for helping me out. We tried taking the preliminary tool but it does not give an option for diploma for education in India. Still thank you all so much for helping.

Cheers

You are right about the tool - it does not provide any information about Indian diploma courses. But WES does assess diploma courses and I suggest you apply for an ECA with them.
