Hi, please help me to understand my chances to get through Canada Skilled Migration.

After my 13 years of schooling I completed a 3 yr Technology Diploma in my country. Along with a 5 yr work experience after my Diploma, I could follow a 2 yrs Part time MSc in UK in the same engineering subject.

After my MSc I have completed 8 years of work in the same field of study.

My work experience directly relates to NOC 2147 and it requires a Bachelor degree for qualifications. What chances do I have for Canada skilled migration with my background?

This can be answered only once you complete your educational assessment by one of the IRCC (CIC) authorized agencies.

Hi, thanks for the reply.....

I have to get assessed from WES, does the above answer means any chance of WES assessing my Diploma and MSc as equivalent or comparable to a BSc, so that I may be able to apply with NOC2147.

Assuming that they assessed my Diploma as Diploma and MSc as a MSc, do I have a chance to go with NOC2147.

Please give me an idea of what chances I would have assuming the possibilities of how my qualifications may be assessed.

You can check the Canadian equivalency of your foreign degree or diploma here http://www.wes.org/ca/evaluations/preliminary.asp?.

WES does not charge by the number of degrees that you get assessed by them. So it would be advisable to send them all the degrees/diplomas that you have from Bachelors onwards (though the requirement is to get only your highest foreign degree assessed). So, if you have a Bachelors plus the Masters that you mentioned and WES assesses it as Masters, then you get more points and in the worst case, if they accept your Bachelors and treat your Masters as a diploma, you can still select 'two or more degree where one is at least 3 years or more'. This will give you more points when compared to just getting your Bachelors or diploma assessed individually.

Hi Stanlee,

Thanks for the reply, but my issue is I don't have a bachelors. I've only got 3 years National Diploma and a 2 years Part Time MSc.
They say NOC 2147 needs a Bachelors degree, Would I be able to use my Diploma and MSc together to fullfil Bachelors requirement?

That's why i said it is pertinent that you do the evaluation first.

If your Masters is evaluated as Bachelors equivalent in Canadian system, then you can surely use that NOC.

Thank you and I understand the uncertainty until I get the real output from WES.

I also tried the WES tool link to check Canadian equivalency but don't see any option for Diplomas. It only has Degrees and Masters in the drop down list. Any idea how to pre-check Diplomas?
