HI,
I am a little confused, everyone here is saying that they are being requested to have a medical, however the Spousal sponership says we have to have proof that the medical was completed before sending papers to the CIC.
My wife did the medical on APril 26th and they told her to come back a week later to pick up the certificate..is this correct and what we require for proof???
What happens to the results??

Medicals are usually requested for inland sponsorship and for re-medical (when the original one expired, as they are said to be only valid for 1 year)

Your wife did the upfront medical for which she would have received a receipt (e-medical, a 2 page document with her picture on it, and personal info). The actual results are sent by the doctor directly to CIC so all you need to provide with the application is the e-medical receipt. CIC will match the results to this receipt # your wife would have received.

just an FYI, my e-medical form was only 1 page. yes, this is what she needs to get from the doctor, it needs to be in your application package to confirm it has been done.

go to this thread http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/medical-examination-imm-1017-emedical-ukraine-t194405.0.html the first post has a picture of what the receipt looks like. For the picture they would have taken a pic of your wife at the doctors office.

If the doctor is not online with CIC, she will receive Medical Form IMM #. But for this it would have meant that your wife brought in passport photos with her to the doctor.

She will receive either the e-medical or the Medical Form IMM # and not the actual results of her medical tests.

First of all where will the baby be born ?

1) if the baby is born in Canada it will be automatic a Canadian citizen .
2) if the baby is born outside of Canada and your husband is not a Canadian citizen ,you will have to apply for a visa for your child So yes you will have to add your child to the paper work.

I came to Canada pregnant too so my child was born Canadian. Funny story we had to go to London for our medical and an interview at the same time .The lady who was interviewing us said " Congratulations you are going to have a baby " In the medical they had taken a pregnancy test .

No, your pregnancy will have no effect whatsoever on your sponsorship from your spouse. If you are issued a visa before your child is born you can come and land in Canada have your child here in Canada, but if you are not issued your visa before your child is born you will need to add your child to your application and wait for his/her visa to also be approved before you can land in Canada.
