Hi there,

I'm SOOOOOOOOO excited. I just recieved my confirmation Letter. Now I know I need to either go out of the country(to US I assume) then come back in, or I can make an appointment.

AFter that I assume I get sent a PR Card?

Which is the best option do you think, the appointment, or just drive down to the US and back in and get it stamped?

Also, when can I start looking for work. I assume I need a Social Security/Tax number of some kind, but I have no idea how to go about obtaining this.

Am I allowed to start sending out my CV?

Thanks!!

Quickest is to just drive to your nearest USA land border.

You can instead make an appt with CIC at your local office, but appointments can take weeks to months to get depending what city you're in.

After you land, just take your COPR to any Canada Government office offering SIN services, and get your SIN on the spot. You can send out as many CVs as you want now, you just can't officially start any work until you get your SIN.

Awesome, Thanks Rob!! I will head to the Border.

Do I just need to bring the COPR and My passport?
Yes, and if you will be importing anything from outside the country later tax-free as a new PR, then you also need the B4 forms.
