Hi,

we just received an e-mail from the immigration stating:

"We would like to inform, that immigration documents for you are ready to be picked-up.You can collect them in person. We can also send them to you, but first please arrange for the pre-paid courier services (DHL, UPS or TNT, not/not FedEx). Your CONFIRMATION OF PERMANENT RESIDENCE is valid until January 08, 2015."

Just curious to know: what does "your confirmation of permanent residence is valid until January 08, 2015?" Does that mean we have until that date to pick the documents up? Or, does it mean something else?

If we decide to pick the confirmation for PR up in person, how long do we have? I tried contacting the visa office but didn't get an answer yet...

When you get the documents, you will have until January 8, 2015 to travel to Canada and land as a PR. If you do not arrive in Canada by that date, well... you don't want that.

You should have until the PR's expiry to pick it up - my suggestion is do it sooner rather than later. ;)
