I heard that comparing to other colleges centennial has very less Indian students. Is that true because I like to experience different culture?

R u applying for centennial,

Are these private schools?

Hmm, didnt know.

But keep in mind, in the end you will only get 1 thing.. an education you cherish, or work permit/ PR. You'd be very lucky to have it both ways.

thtsss a bummer ::), the only logical step i see is to join a public institute and work hard to get a good portfolio going nad Sheridhan is the only one tht fit in this equation nicely..

studying fr Game dev and spending 30-40k$ peryear in a private institute, is not really wise from what i got off a few industry ppl(they recommend self studying and building a portfolio instead).

well Sheridan seems good fr now .Ive got time till june-july so ill keep looking for better options. 8)

1. If you graduate from a private school, you won't be eligible for a PGWP and PR options under PNP/CEC.

well thanks fr clearing tht up :D

Thnx bro for the useful info u have provide, can u pl provide some info regarding education system in canada. Iam planing for pg diploma in Market rearcfromh and analytics Centennial college, I heard they have assignments , projects , mid term and final exam , how are the exam are they tough to crack?.

Depends on the course and the tutor.

Ive had Comp Sci courses with no textbooks, everything in class lectures and no assignments and only a midterm and a final.

Usually the format is you will have assignments, a couple of midterms and a final but the tutor may also structure the course so there is no final but only midterms every few weeks. It varies.

As far as cracking the exams, nothing is hard if you stay regular and attend lectures. But again, it varies as it depends on the tutor too. For e.g. a differential equations course i took at Univ, the final was out of what we were tested on the midterms. another 3rd year math course i took had easy midterms but the prof fu$%ed everyone with a final that was nothing like the midterms or out of the text book (luckily i managed a pass).

So all you can do is not slack or get over confident, work hard and you will do fine.

If you are looking for dedicated game design programs, unfortunately private schools and colleges are your best bet.

If you want a more rounded education, some university programs offer options to indulge into game design. For e.g. the mcmaster link i posted earlier. These are probably a good choice in my opinion since you will always have an plan B that if you cant get into the game industry right away, you can get into other IT fields with that degree. whereas a dedicated game program leaves you with the skills for just that industry.

You should look at comp sci/ soft engineering degree options at university level. There are major degrees and then there are those with options to specialize in a stream.
