Ethically, it doesn't look good that she separated from her sponsor....but if the sponsor is not attempting to have her deported back home, then it shouldn't affect anything and they'll see it as a failing marriage, not a scam or marriage of opportunity. If that's the case, where the sponsor is in agreement with the sponsoree leaving him, then there are no consequences and she is free to apply for citizen ship in 4 more years (you must be in Canada for 6 years). However, if she has fled from her sponsor and they have filed a complaint and she simply couldn't be found because she is in hiding, then when she goes to apply, she may have to face the consequences at that time.Kitoko90 said:

I am not at all implying that this person abused the system, I'm just trying to give you views from all angles! Overall, it's not an issue if she's not still with her sponser, as long as the sponsor has not filed any complaints....
You get conditional 51 on your PR if you are married or common law less than 2 years and no children together at the time of submitting PR application.Ben11212 said:

It has been known for this condition to have been incorrectly applied to an application, where the applicant clearly doesn't meet the criteria. It happened to me, for example. In that case, you need to raise an "Urgent" CSE to get it corrected and the COPR reissued.screech339 said:

yes, presumably it would apply to you. to be exempt from condition 51, you would need to have been married for 2 years PRIOR to sending in the application, so if "condition 51" is still valid by the time you're approved, you will most likely have it listed on your approval. there is speculation that the condition is being dropped, however nothing "official" has been reported yet and IRCC is still applying the condition to applications.abrakadabra said:
