Complicated family sponsorship... help/advice needed?

Hello.
I need help from someone who knows about this, here is ,in short, my problem.
When my father first got his visa (some 20 years ago), he was asked did he have dependables and he answered no, although he did have kids.
Will that be a problem if he tries to sponsor his kids for permanent residency? Can he even do that now?
Thank you.

No your father gave up his right to sponsor you when he said no he didn't have any dependents .If he had said yes at the time but you was not ready to come to Canada you may have stood a chance. Many parents think they will have a better chance getting into Canada then getting their spouse or children into Canada that is not the case .

Is there really no chance for him to change that statement or something like that?
Sorry... CIC seems to be extremely strict about this. If you hide the fact that you have a spouse and/children when you land, you can never ever sponsor them again.

Not to mention the fact that he could have had his own PR revoked because of misrepresentation!

I would imagine after 20 years he is a citizen by now. But yeah, he did commit misrepresentation.

Even if he did declare the kids in his application, if they are now 19 years or older - they're too old to be sponsored anyway.

If he had wouldn't there age be locked in and would still be able to sponsor if they were still dependent on him ..Even though this is not the case

No, their age would be locked in from the date of *their* sponsorship application (whether child sponsorship or as accompanying dependents)

Only if he has no other relatives in Canada, and his parents are not alive anywhere in the world. And maybe a couple of other criteria I am not aware of. Although this still might be overridden by the fact he didn't declare you when he landed.

Sorry, no. CIC really slammed the door shut with these cases. There is no way for your father to sponsor any children he did not disclose when he landed.

One criteria being that he did not commit misrepresentation regarding his kids when he landed. He cannot sponsor his kids now under any family class.

I should take this back. If it can be proven that he did not know of the existence of his children at the time of his landing, then *maybe* he has a chance at sponsoring.
