My friend who was an international student is stuck at 444 points and seems to be giving up. Anyway long story short: apparently he has come across some legitimate businesses abroad that are willing to provide him with a reference letter for a certain fee?

Thought I could get some input from members here. Anyone heard of such a thing? Sounds to be safe since all CIC requirements will be met.

That would be misrepresentation. Tell him to stay away from such crooks. At the appropriate time, he will get an invite. I am sure you have forgotten that CIC already has his previous employment history before he came to Canada? The truth will always set you free.Do not fall into this trap!

o.0 how come CIC has already known his previous employment history?
Presumably from their study permit application.

Regardless of that, deliberately lying on a PR application is not a good idea.

Are these businesses in Canada?

They might askk you for tax forms. How will you provide it? If you dont provide it, your application will be cancelled. And when you again apply for Immigration, they will know it and will ask you for the same document.

Btw, since you are already in Canada, any work history which you mention now, should be matched with the one you provided before

Regardless of whether the company is in Canada or outside of Canada - this international student is looking at a refusal and a five year ban from Canada if he tried to fake experience.

If the companies are in Canada - CIC will know he didn't work for them from CRA.

If the companies are outside of Canada - then presumably he didn't mention this fake experience when he applied for the study permit and CIC will see this if he tries to add fake experience later.

Lying to CIC is one of the worst decisions a person can make. Refusal. Five year ban from Canada. Once the five years has passed, it will be next to impossible to obtain a temporary permit of any kind (e.g. study, visitor, work) to Canada ever again due to the misrepresentation and any immigration application submitted will be very heavily supervised.

Only an idiot would lie about their experience. It's a great way to get a fast ticket out of Canada.

Do they check past salary slips/bank statements as proofs of salary?
In India, we often get salaries in cash or cheque for first few months of work :-\

CIC doesn't ask for pay stubs or tax assessment forms for foreign work experience.

Wow! then its problem solved for most of the foreign workers. They can simply add 3+years work experience , get letters from a company somehow and score clb 7 and get an ITA.
No more discussion. If this is the case, foreign workers will have utmost advantage and is much simpler for them to get an ITA.

I am not sure about that. Without Canadian exp. Young age. Perfect score of english and education degree. Very unlikely to score above 400

Disagree. Anyone trying their luck with fraudulent documents is risking their entire immigration plan.
