Hello,

I have a question regarding our timeline for Common Law sponsorship. We have lived together for around 14 months so far, but it has been in various different places - we looked after our friends apartment for a couple of weeks, then moved into our own place for 3 months (we have our joint bank account statements going here but no Lease as we paid the landlady in cash - we do have a written reference from her though), then we went on vacation for 3 weeks before moving to a new apartment together in a new country for 9 months (we have leases etc for this place), before then moving again into a house with the sponsors mother where we currently are.

Given that we have moved around quite a lot over this time period would we still be eligible for the Common Law route? Would this throw up any red flags with regard to CIC? Would the 3 weeks when we didn't have a place (but we were still together on Vacation) have any effect on this?

Thanks in advance!

Hi

Yes, you would still be eligible for common-law. It doesn't matter where you lived, as long as you can prove you were living together. The 3 weeks vacation is fine, you can include your plane tickets and stuff showing you were together.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Does the fact we do not have a lease for the 3 months of living together make a difference at all? Like i said we have a reference stating when we lived there from the landlady and joint bank statements also.

That will be fine, mail to that address and the reference is good evidence.
