Common Law Sponsorship Work Permit

Hi,

I was being sponsored by my common law spouse and unfortunately things did not work out and we have withdrawn our application. I have a two year working holiday visa approved and just need to flagpole to activate it but I found the thread below which seems to mean that my current bridging Work Permit (received due to sponsorship) will still be valid until it's expiry. Is this correct? I want to maximise my time in Canada without accidentally working when I am not allowed to. Any advice welcome!

Assuming you applied inland, what you have is not a bridging open work permit - it's simply an open work permit based on your spousal sponsorship application. Yes - it will remain valid until expiry.

Hi Scylla,

Yes I did apply inland. I did not receive any instructions on having to leave the country or return my work permit with the application withdrawal letter.

It does say in the 'Remarks/Observations' section: "Temporary resident status maintained as per R183(6). Pending FC apr."

So effectively I can continue to use this until expiry? I am a little concerned about leaving and re-entering the country with it.
