Hello,

My girlfriend and I are applying for Permanent Residence via express entry. We are applying as common-law partners since we have been living together for nearly three years.

The thing is that we are also engaged and currently planning our wedding. We already have the proofs for our Common-law relationship (leasing contracts, photos, messages, etc.), but we are wondering if we should also mention our engagement and our wedding plans in our applications. Will our process be delayed because of our situation? Should we wait to be legally married before submitting it? I think that since we are already applying as common-law partners, it shouldn't matter but I would like to know what do you guys think?

Best regards,

Best regards,
You don't need to mention it. There is no point in waiting to be married.
