I have been living with my partner since 2019/07.

I went to my home town to visit my family for 5.5 months from 2020/02 to 2020/08

In my Address History Section, which one should I mention?

Option 1:

2020/08 - 2024/04 Canada Address
2020/02 - 2020/08 Home Country Address (for 5.5 months)
2019/07 - 2020/02 Canada Address

Option 2:
2019/07 - 2024/04 Canada Address

Thank you for your answers!

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Since you state that you were `visiting' your family for those 5.5 months...that would imply that your were still living at (and likely receiving mail) at the address in Canada. If so, you should go with Option 2 and show the time spent abroad in your Travel History section. But...this may mean that you were not Common-Law as of 2020/07 (would have been 5 months short).

If IRCC sees that break as time that does not count towards meeting the requirement to be deemed Common-Law, it wouldn't really change the fact that you are now, but would change the date that you declare that your Common-Law relationship actually started (2021/08, not 2020/07). If the `clock' was reset when you returned to Canada, you would have then met the requirement as of 2021/08.

I suggest waiting for others to reply to confirm or dispute.

5.5 months is a long time to be listed as just a trip.

I think option 1 make sense in your case. And it won't affect your common law status.

It's confusing for address history part (in my case). As we stated that we have been living since 2019/07, but it looks weird if I put a hometown address during 2020/02 - 2020/08.

Yes! we're aware of the cohabitation date too. The 12-month continuous date is from 2020/08 to 2021/08. I have included why we didn't properly establish the period of 12-month continuity at first in the LOE.

Yes we were thinking 5.5 months is too long, and need to include to my address history.

I've replied to a previous answer. As we stated that we have been living since 2019/07, does it look fine if I put a hometown address during 2020/02 - 2020/08?

Sorry! I am so confused now o_O

Yes. If you're concerned, just include a short letter of explanation that you started living together in 2019, but then went to your homecountry for a [reason] visit for ~six months.
