He can take a taxi to the border, walk over and use his passport and COPR to enter Canada. Then after he crosses, he can use whatever transportation means to continue on with his journey in Canada.puma said:No he does not have a visa exempted passport
oohhhhh... oops! Thanks for clearing that up! I just assumed there was a walkway.Alurra71 said:..only problem would be the inability to cross in Detroit/Windsor on foot anymore. The tunnel bus is just that, a bus that only transports folks between borders. You can no longer walk the Ambassador Bridge either. You are going to have to figure out how to cross that isn't commercial transport.
Come to think of it, why would the tunnel bus be commercial? It shouldn't be any more 'commercial' than the city bus would be.... *shrugs*
There used to be on the bridge, but apparently a spate of jumpers fixed that right up now you can only drive across. The tunnel has no place for a walkway the one or two times I actually used it (I'm terrified of being underground and still breathing - LOL) so I think the only transportation there would be the tunnel shuttle bus.keesio said:oohhhhh... oops! The problem is that Canadian border officials will suspect that a car with US plates is being imported into Canada and they can give you a hard time at the border.Taxee said:Can he travel by a private car with US Number plate?
If it is a rental car not a problem. If it is a car of family or friend, you should have a notarized document that you are indeed clear to take it to Canada. I would suspect that he might be questioning why you are coming in with a borrowed vehicle though, especially since you are trying to fly 'under' the radar regarding your RO, or that is the assumption here. Just be prepared with good answers.Taxee said:Can he travel by a private car with US Number plate?
