Hi Friends,

I was trying to apply express entry FSW. I have IELTS L 7.5 Wr -6.5 Sp -6 Read -6. When I check my eligibility it says am not eligible, But If i check with my Wife IELTS result it says I am Eligible . WHat is the reason for that and how many points I can get for above scenario?

My wife will doing IELTS exams on April. Can I create CIC account for this scenario? IS it possible to update my wife IELTS Results afte creating CIC account. Will that be a problem?

Your ineligibility is not because of your IELTS, that's for sure! It must be something else that you're entering wrong which makes you ineligible.

Your wife's done IELTS already? Or is she will be doing it in April? Is it gonna be the second time?

Yes, you can very well update better results but not better individual sections' results only.

You can estimate your score yourself here

For eligibility:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

For CRS score:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

All the best!

Thanks for the reply.

Yes My wife will be doing IELTS exams on April. If I increase 0.5 for IELTS score I will be eligible without my wife score and I tested it trough Come to Canada tool.

You have to check your crs points. If you have 450+ points then you have good chance. If you have 400+ points then you will get pnp invitation.

Yes, you need to create the EE account to be considered.

Under Express Entry system, provinces can choose candidates from the EE pool and such applicants can apply for provincial nomination. If you get a provincian nomination (PNP) you will get 600 extra points added to your profile - which will increase your chances of getting selected for ITA.
If you have more than 400 points, you may be selected for Ontario PNP

Here is more info on Ontario PNP:
http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNP_EE_CAPITAL.html#display

Excerpt from the OINP website:
"OINP searches the Express Entry pool and identifies potential candidates who:
Have a minimum score of 400 on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) in CIC’s Express Entry system, and
Meet the criteria of Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities Stream (see Section 2 for more information).
If OINP identifies you in the Express Entry pool, you will receive a PT Notification of Interest from Ontario through your MyCIC account. This notification will invite you to apply to OINP for nomination under the Human Capital Priorities Stream."

I think PNP is a lengthy and expensive process, it would be better if you can improve your IELTS score (7 or higher in all areas). You can start doing a Masters now as a plan B if all else fails. Good luck

A masters degree would at least take a year (and if you get it in another country- add the credential evaluation period). PNP is expensive-sure not necessarily lengthier than a graduate degree.

I thought so too, that's why it should be another plan if he can not get PNP. He can do it at the same time he prepares for PNP. :)
