I am Permanent Residet , planning to get married on End of this Year . would like to bring her after marriage with me to canada.

Here are few options to bring her here to Canada

1) She shall apply for Visitor VISA to Canda before getting married and What are the possibility of getting approved ?
2) After getting married , Apply for Sponsor ship , While waiting , Apply for VISITOR VISA.
3) After getting married ,Apply only for Sponsorship , Wait for 5 to 6 months to come to Canda.

Will there be a negative impact if VISITOR VISA rejected and applyting for Sponsorship ?

Once she got VISITOR VISA before marriage, Shall I apply for Sponsorship after bringing her to Canada?

Can seniors advice what is the best option to go ? Thanks in advacne

Hi, Did you get a response to your question? Even I am in same situation. I have a fiance in India whom I will get married to in Nov and want to bring her with me back to Canada immediately after marriage on a visitor visa.

1) Should I apply for her visitor visa now itself as a fiance
2) should i wait for marriage and then apply as my 'wife'

Regards

I'm sure more senior members will chime in, but from what I understand getting a Visitor Visa during sponsorship is VERY difficult, as they want to make sure that your spouse will leave immediately if the application is denied.

Applying for Visitors Visa (TRP) before marriage would entail that your would be spouse would have to provide a reason to come to Canada and show substantial ties to back to her home country. Unless she has some relatives in Canada whom she could visit, it would be difficult for her to provide a valid reason.

2) After getting married , Apply for Sponsor ship , While waiting , Apply for VISITOR VISA.

Sponsorship is a 2 step process. First, you apply for sponsoring your spouse. Here you prove that you have a valid status in Canada, are reasonably settled and that it is your intention to support your spouse. This step happens within Canada. It takes about 2-3 months. If you are a PR, you have to be in Canada to apply for sponsoring your spouse (you cannot sponsor while you are outside Canada) Once this is approved the second step is your spouse's application for PR is sent to either (a) the visa office of her home country - if applying "outland" or (b) visa office in Canada - if applying "inland".

The second process is longer takes 5-6 months or more. After the first step, the second step is just a waiting game. Hence if she applies for TRP after the first step (stating that she wants to visit her husband and that she wants to wait out the balance period of the application period with her spouse) , it is easier to get the visa.

TRP application and PR application are distinct and results of TRP (accepted or rejected) will not have any bearing on the PR application. However, results of PR application has a direct bearing on TRP application. But that is another story and it won't come to that :)

Problem is, just because she has TRP does not mean the immigration officer would allow her in to Canada. That is a big and useless risk to take. At the airport, she has to declare her intention to enter Canada. If the sponsorship application is not approved by then, the officer may find her ineligible to enter.

Hi,

It looks bringing your wife after marriage on Visitor Visa without Sponsorship approval is big risk , Visa officer might question lot. she migh become in eligible.

It is best to go for Spouse sponsorship , Once Sponsor approved , try for Visitor Visa , which would have more chances .
