Claiming work expierence

I worked in a limited company from 2011 to 2018. This is my only work experience. While I'm easily able to secure a work experience letter from them my question is regarding the pay stubs. I can only prove I was paid from 2014 to 2018. Prior to this, my salary was very low, and I was paid in cash.

Thus, from 2011-2014, I cannot prove I was employed. From 2014-2018 I can provide a lot of documentation: pay stubs, tax deduction certifications, income tax certificates, bank statements showing money income.

How do I resolve this? Do I only claim 4 years of experience in this or all 7?

If this is foreign work experience and not Canadian work experience, you only need 3 years of work experience to attain the max points.

It is FSW. You're definitely right about the points, but what do I claim in the application? 7 years or 3? If I claim 3, I am not being truthful, and if I claim 7 years I don't have proof beyond the reference letter.

As proof of work experience, the experience letter is what matters which is mandatory and you should follow that. Pay stubs are just an optional plus.

Alright that makes sense. What worries me then is this was a family business. While my job was completely legitimate where I worked full time and was paid accordingly, wouldn't the visa centre feel extra proof is necessary?

Essentially, I was promoted in 2014 to a new position and I could frame this in that sense and claim 4 years of work experience which I can prove using multiple documents. Thoughts?
