Do you know how long it generally takes for process the citizenship application from start (time you submit your completed application) to finish (attaining citizenship grant)? I saw 12 months as the processing time on CIC's website but heard from 2 of my friends that they got it done in 2-3 months. I was just wondering if anyone else has had that experience.

I sent out my application on october 10th by regular mail ( i am repenting for doing so..should hace sent it expedited post) anyways....today i logged onto ircc website and it says that the forms I submitted should be received on oct 11 or before...and it later i houkd log on to see new application process...so i am confused now. Anyone else going thru thr same?

Two/three months? That is a stretch...mine took just under 7 months with no hiccups such as finger print request.

Now that Citizenship is based on 3/5 Years residency requirements, are there any changes to the Citizen processing methods so that the processing is now expedited?
