I am in the same boat as you pongpong (Aug 28 test - decision made).

I believe they are focusing their energies on their travelling road show to Ft Mac this week and maybe setting us all aside for their "Citizenship Week" the week before the elections.

Seems like they are actually focusing on clearing applications for people who applied in early-mid 2014 and earlier. If you notice the timelines of such applicants, they are getting their tests and oaths within 2-3 weeks span. Where as for people who applied in mid 2014 and later, may have got their tests done already and even their decisions have been made but still waiting for their OATHs.

There is a new processing timeline CIC have to follow:

They have to clear all applications who have applied before April 1, 2015 by March 31, 2016 or before (except non routines appliications)
And for people who applied after April 1, 2015 will be completed in 12 months or less.

By looking at the stats on this forum it seems to make sense...

That's exactly what I thought. I was pissed because I had to wait longer for my test and I applied February 2014 when someone who applied 8 months after me were writing their tests before me. Now I think they are being fair and follow a timeline. Even so, I hope you guys get your call soon. They won't be longer than 4 months anyways, and the hardest part which is the test and the interview are done.

FYI

Application Sent: December 15th, 2014
Acknowledge and study book sent: March 6th, 2015
Applications processing start: March 27th, 2015
Test Invite: September 3rd 2015
Wrote test: Sept 17th 2015
Decision made: September 22nd 2015
Oath: waiting

Hi there, congratulations to oath takers, I finished my exam in August 24th in Edmonton and my status changed to decision made on 26th. I am waiting for my oath ceremony. But I have a bit of problem here, when I applied I was in Edmonton, and now we moved to Vancouver. I had changed my address online but I wonder if this will take more time to process and send my oath letter.

Application received: September 15, 2014.
Processing application: December 14, 2014
Citizenship test on Aug 24th
Oath ceremony : waiting :)

I missed my test in July so they sent me final notice in Aug.

Does anyone know how many oath takers are at any given Edmonton ceremony?

The ceremonies schedule was updated and Edmonton CIC has ceremonies scheduled for October 15th (three sessions) and October 16th (two sessions).

Just trying to figure out how many Oath takers will there be in those sessions.

(100 each session? - 500 total?)

Hi, I finally took my oath yesterday and became Canadian! :P

There were 94 candidates at our ceremony. There were two ceremonies scheduled for yesterday, so I would say in total 200 people got their citizenship yesterday.

Hmmmm...

94 x 5 = 470 possible spots for those of us who are in "Decision Made" status waiting for the Pink Letter to invite us to take our oath (and then vote!)

I like the odds.

Took my test and interview today didn't get an RQ or CTI..the officer said they will review the file again! And if they think that all is complete they'll contact me in 2-4 months! Is there any chance of RQ or CTI if I didn't get one during the interview?

Hi guys, just to let you know there is another oath which will be taking place on October 06th, 2015 and for your information I am part of it. I got a letter dated September 22, 2015 but my ecase does not say anything yet. It looks like they are starting now to send oath invite to October applicants. See my timeline down. I wish all the best to all of you who are still waiting for oath.

Congratulations for oath and test takers.
Wish you all the best :)

Question for dr_majed8835 could you please share your timeline with us?

Thanks

Hey Folks,

Really happy to tell you that my ecase has just been updated with oath invite with no date mentioned yet. Hopefully, I'll receive the paper invitation mentioning the oath date in a few days.

I had a normal application with no RQ or extensive security screening. I would say the 9-month wait time in my case is not that bad afterall!

I hope that it would be your turn to receive the oath invite soon.

Received oath invite in the mail today.

Oath ceremony at CIC Edmonton on Oct 15.

Time taken from application submission to oath: 1 yr 3 weeks

Regards

Hey asagalen,

Thanks. I think you should receive your oath invite soon given the recent processing pattern at the Edmonton CIC.

Good luck.
