This process is the most frustrating thing I have ever experienced, I passed my test on October 24th and have still ot been invited to an oath ceremony, the latest note on my file is that the clearnces expired and had to be renewed, a call centre agent told me I was back in the queue for an oath cermeny as of Feb 3rd but they can not tell me how the queue works. I aksed as I see people taking their test in February have been invited to oath ceremonies. It seems clear that the Edmonton office focus is on making thier statistics look good by processing 2014 applications quickly and taking little or no action on the 2013 files. My file was in process March 2013 and passed to the Edmonton office in January 2014 and was supposed to be a routine file, I have not been asked for an RQ.

Does anyone have any insights as to why Edmonton is so slow and worse still do not reply to communications from myself or Peter Goldrings office.

Anyone else from 2014 revived test notification? Please share

Are you sure about this? I mean a lot of 2014 applications arent moving forward either...

Hi ABscientist, It is just how it appears to me. I am basing that on seeing timelines with Feb 2015 tests and April 2015 oath ceremonies and that there is a good chance that it will take me 7 - 8 months (it is already 6 months based on the current sheduled oath ceremonies) from test to oath which is around 50% of the TOTAL time of some of the current late 2013 and early 2014 applicants. How can there be such a huge difference with routine applications at the same office. If you have a different theory I would really like to hear it.

Overall, I would say Edmonton still has not picked-up from previous years' backlog, although FEW applications' timelines were reduced to less than 24 months but more are still waiting :(

Did they apply in Edmonton?

Good news for 2014 applicants. It is just a shame that those of us that applied earlier are being left on the shelf, I would like to know why they can not get moving and finish my application as quickly. I took my passed on October 24th 2014 and yet have still not been invited to an oath ceremony, a decision was made that day according to CIC and everything is ok. Apparently I am in "The Queue" sadly no one at CIC know what this queue is or how it works.

A friend of mine sent his application late Jun,2014 and his wife late Aug 2014 and both have been scheduled for a test on Apr 16,2015. Each one applied individually of course.

I applied in May 2014 and my wife in Mar 2014 and nothing yet. So Edmonton is moving but with no sense at all :D.

Good luck to everyone.

Maybe that is part of my mistake, thinking sense could be applied to a governmnet process. Especially so heavily shrouded in secrecy and a desire to not share information >:(

Did you try to contact the MP in your area? Could be helpful or not, who knows. But it's worth to take a shot.

Are you sure? There is totally no common sense for Edmonton's process timing. Are there any specials for their cases?

Hi Alicezy,

I did try that, a lady from Peter Goldrings office tried contacting them for me; and not even the MP's office can talk to the Edmonton office directly. Go figure..........
