I think I mentioned it in an earlier post that they have made routine cases, especially the straightforward ones, a priority. I believe many of the new hires are working on those. There have been people posting here recently who got their test invitation in less than 18 months, if I'm not mistaken, so that's a definite improvement over the 24 months to just get to the test that 2012 applicants had to endure.
Yes a big improvement, got my test letter after 15 months (still a long time to process anything but better in CIC standard)

Bambino, thanks for the detailed information, checked my file number and it is 448xxxx, so by your explanation, 6 months or more should be my timeframe but since I was told 2 to 4 months to oath at the interview in Dec, as from April, I will make it a point of duty to contact (harrass) them almost daily . . .

Let me clarify, what I wrote about the file numbers and the months it will take refers only to people who were given CIT 0520, Request for Additional Documents. If yours is a routine file, then you should be getting your oath invitation within a couple of months.

Ohhh I gat it . . . I have no RQ - Although, I was kind of expecting one due to my situation - fingers crossed, waiting on CBP report to send to them if they haven't invited me for oath by the time I get it

Ah isn't that something? Now, we all have to move to Toronto to get faster processing since, they get special treatment :D, Or We can find a way to have a CIC Minister from Alberta ;D - then things can start moving here too

Finally my husband got a rescheduled date for citizenship ceremony! :D He came to Canada in November 2008 (PR).
Below is his timeline.

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on January 6, 2012.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on January 6, 2012. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We started processing your application on December 6, 2012.

We sent you a notice on January 24, 2014 to appear and write the citizenship test on February 19, 2014 at 1:00 PM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

We sent you a notice on August 26, 2014 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on September 18, 2014 at 1:30 PM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

He missed his ceremony because we were out of the country on Sept.18, 2014.

September 30, 2014, I sent a letter to CIC explaining the reasons for missing the ceremony and requesting for it to be rescheduled.

January 23, 2015 I got a letter in the mail for a rescheduled date, for him to attend the Oath ceremony. (not yet updated on CIC website)

February 09, 2015, is his Oath ceremony :)

WHAT A LONG PROCESS! Good luck to everyone else!
