Congrats Dinigobale! Another one happy Canadian, thanks for sharing your experience during the exam. Good thing there is no RQ after test, gotta love these stories!
Keep us posted on your Oath Taking. We immigrants should not suffer these unacceptable waiting time under the Harper Conservative Govt. ;) hope you wont forget to exercise your right to vote!!!

Hi Canuto,

have you talked to your Member of Parliament? They may not know about the problem. The more people complain the sooner they will take actions.

I am not sure how much help writing to your MP is. I already emailed my MP a few months ago
and she never got back to me. And she is the only non-conservative MP in the province.
To me, the fact that they may not know the problem is inconceivable. I'm with Canuto on this, that all
of us who've been victims in this manner need to vote the conservatives out once we hopefully become
citizens, and keep whoever else we vote for in check. 3 year of wait time when the residence requirement
is 3 years is just bending the laws.

Hi Edmonton_waiting, Glad you asked that question. Yes I did went to my MP's office back in September of last year together with my "New Canadian" friends who got their citizenship within 8 months period way back 2009 and explained to my MP about this long waiting period and issuance of Fingerprint request, and these dreaded RQ's.
A month after that, his staff called and left a voicemail message at home, saying that they inquired about my application and status at CIC local office and as per CIC's normal procesing time of 25 months, since we only have one citizenship judge and your papers has not reached that period...if nothing happens to your application after that waiting period you are welcome to visit our office ....best thing that you can do is wait until you reach passed the prescribed period."
Some words of hope I guess. :D. So in the meantime I will wait up until July 2014 (25 months since I applied and submitted).

Congratulations JCP488, hope you all enjoy the slushy weather this week, before the -40's strikes back again on February :)
BEST OF LUCK TO ALL!!!

I wrote the citizenship exam on Jul 4, 2013, have not received anything since then. The total application time is over 25 months. My son will have a Eroup thip in spring break, and waiting for the Canadian Passport. Is anyone also took the exam in Edmonton on Jul 4, 2013? Did you get any information about ceremory? Thanks! I phone CIC Help Centre, she said the only thing she can do is put a note in my file, and she suggested write a letter to CIC Edmonton, which I did on Jan 8, 2014. I have not received any response. Anything I can do?

I had my interview after the test just at the front desk by a young lady...she asked to see my passport, record of landing, and two pieces of id. She asked if I'm working, I told her where I was working for the last 3 years. She took notes of all my answers, checked off my residence calculation sheet I sent to them at my initial application, then she informed me that I had all answers right on my test...and that if nothing else is required I should hear from them about oath in 3 months time...I had no issue whatsoever with the agent...though make sure you remember your trips and for how long, because she was asking about all my trips and checking everything good based on my answer and my residence calculation she had.

It was a very easy question, study the booklet you should be fine, I read the booklet 3 times and a couple practice exam online...very easy...though on my question 6 I had a little brain freeze I left it and finished then came back and answer the question.

Now the final stage is on...oath waiting.

Took the exam last Jan 16.. there were about 15 of us taking the exam in the room.. I wonder if Edmonton is giving daily schedule for the exam?

I have 2 officemates, both families applied March 2012, and they have exam schedule on Jan 30..

Does anyone knows if someone will be attending the Oath Taking ceremony tomorrow?

Still no invite for Oath ceremony. I wrote the test first week of Nov. The officer said 3-4 months to get Oath ceremony. Its already 3rd month with no invite yet.
