As I have already shared in this thread, the Treasury Board has imposed rules to limit abuse and rationalize the use of the 699 holiday. The new rules have been in effect since November 9th.

I just noticed that an update has also just been made on the general information site, with a very encouraging reminder (And,
in fine, interesting for us! ... I applaud this mention in the government website, and this awareness in the face of abuses ... It is a step in good governance and good management of public funds, which must be welcomed!), see here:

Effective: November 9, 2020
All employees who are in good health and able to work, including those required by a public health official or medical practitioner to quarantine (self-isolate) or isolate, should continue to work remotely, wherever and whenever possible.
Of course, this remains relatively good news ... As long as the legal action of their union remains ineffective (ie in treatment, or refused).
... What insolent daring, anyway! ... They dared to go to court to demand the '' right '' to be continued to be paid full rate with our taxes indefinitely, without limits or markers, it's just incredible ...
It is simply an insult to all those who continue to work, salaried employees in the private sector, or self-employed workers.
If you want to see this senseless thing, it's over here:

... Let’s hope that their insolent lawsuit does not succeed, and that the secretariat of the Treasury Board of Canada does not allow itself to be intimidated by this union.
I think our preoccupation with resuming citizenship tests, and this 699 leave story are closely related ... A resumption, even partial online, requires IRCC employees not to abuse the 699 code.
If they use it = It means time off, it allows them to avoid even remote work.
