You must have resided in Canada for at least three years (1,095 days) in the past four years before you apply. This does not apply to children under 18.

And that's what has changed. It's now four years (1460 days) out of six, other criteria also apply.

Applicants will need to be physically present in Canada for a total of four out of their last six years. In addition, they would need to be physically present in Canada for 183 days per year for at least four of those six years.

You are right, I didn't know about these news, thanks

Not yet. The 3 out of 4 year rule is still in effect. CIC has not officially said when the 4 out of 6 rule will be implemented. Many thought it would start June 2015, though someone in another thread has said they were told fall of 2015 by a CIC office.

But it will be by the time the OP is ready to apply, which is why I didn't split hairs over it.
