I became a citizen on Sep 2024 but have been abroad for over 1yr (just went back to Canada for my interview, oath taking, and until I received my passport). Can my citizenship be revoked for being abroad indefinitely? Read this somewhere online:

Loss of Permanent Residency

For naturalized citizens, maintaining permanent resident status is essential. Failing to meet residency requirements or violating terms of permanent residency can lead to the loss of citizenship.

This often occurs if an individual fails to fulfill their obligations as a permanent resident after gaining citizenship, resulting in revocation proceedings.

Pls advise... Thanks

Probably AI generated bullshit. Never trust AI for this type of thing.

Once you are a Canadian citizen the permanent residency requirement ends. You can live in or outside of Canada indefinitely. I would get the passport first before leaving the country.
