Hello all... I want to share my experience with you all and see if you have any suggestion?
I received RQ before being invited for test. I got together document that I could and sent everything out as instructed. only 3 weeks ago I was invited for test and interview that I attended. I passed the test and I was called for interview.
The first question was : "Have you send document to support the RQ?"... so technically none of the document I had sent was in my file. So it was very strange as when I explained that I have sent everything, he looked to be confused and after walking around, he took a piece of paper and asked me to sign as the form was blank that I did.
He then said, he is going to send a report and they will either invite me for oat or will give me a chance to speak in front of a judge.
He only asked me a couple of question about my work and he seemed to be a very nice guy. He also said that he is going to write positive as he doesn't see any problem!
But this was one of those session that I couldn't really feel how it went and I am still confused that what happened or what is going to happen?
Any advice?
Cheers

Did you apply under the old rules or new rules ?

Do you have required number of days, if NOT no point in wasting your precious time. Just withdraw, re-apply its much faster than waiting for CIC to act, they take much longer.

Unfortunately, I was in similar situation. CIC wasted my 8 months to schedule hearing with Judge. Once they postponed and then after much follow up, they re-scheduled it after 6 months. Only to hear from busy judge, I dont have time to review your doc's or justification.

Just withdraw your application and re-apply. CIC wasted my almost 4 years.

Had they rejected it earlier I would have re-applied long time and got it long time back. I dont want to sugar coat but its harsh reality.

Thanks for your reply
I applied in Oct 2014 and in the previous law of 3 years requirement. Case is in Mississauga. I travelled many times for work and he even looked at the forms and travel schedule. He said that he is happy with the travels and he everything is well in place.
He even didn't say if this is going to judge or not!
I had more than required days in the qualifying period.
But since I submitted, I am spending much of my time in the UK as my work required me. I told the guy the truth as well and he didn't seem to have a problem with that. He in fact seemed to be very impressed with my work as I do a very skilled work and we talked about my job a bit.
If I apply from zero, I am not sure if now I have enough days.
The strange thing is the fact that he didn't talk too much like the other interviewers and he was a very quite and culm and I didn't feel if he is happy or unhappy!

Don't read too much into this...plenty of CIC agents as do many other federal/immigration/law enforcement agents play the nice guy angle to calm you down and think they are on your side so you can confide in them. You will either get an oath invite or a see CJ. Get your GCMS notes via ATIP (type both words in the search forum). This will give you a sense of what the RQ issue is, if its been reviewed (and hence confirm if the CIC agent was just messing with you) and what may be the next step. It also gives you some level of control/ participation in the process as opposed to wondering about the supposedly good or not intentions/ nuances of an interview.

Any updates to your situation. Similar thing happened to me, my RQ documents were not in my file. The person interviewing me was nice and said it was probably somewhere in the back and she would look at it.

Hope you have some updates!

I will tell you my story..
Applied last July 2014.
Received RQ Sept 2014.
Submitted RQ Oct. 2014.
Requested ATIP twice last year and confirmed that CIC received my RQ.
Took Citizen Exam yesterday and passed (20/20).
I was interviewed and saw my RQ documents. The officer told me they'll check in details the RQ. If no issue, I should receive an invite for oath taking in the next 2-3mos. They might also ask for more documents in case they are not satisfied.

I wanted to ask that the RQ should have been checked already since I already took the exam. But I didn't since I don't want to upset the officer. If I don't receive any reply for the next 2 mos., I will request for an ATIP.

Hi,
I have the same experience. I was invited without evaluating my RQ documents.
However, I was interviewed and repeatedly insisted to with draw rather than to waste the officer time on the RQ documents evaluation.

I applied in Jan, 2015.
AOR: Feb, 2015,
RQed and Inprocess: at the same time, March 2015,
Test and Interview: Jan, 2016

I have two applications filed for citizenship.
One on basic presence and the other on physical presence after RQed.
The officer was unaware of the 2nd application.

Sorry for being devil's advocate here, but why can't you be RQed again when you apply again? You do have to disclose that you are applying again and CIC will have records to know you had been given RQ before.

You are right.
I did notify CIC and mentioned in the RQ that I will reapply on the basis of physical presence, if it is assumed that residency has not been met.
