I am a Canadian Citizen and i have applied for my Son's Citizenship as Minor because he was 17 year old(at time of application) and will be turning 18 in oct 2014.
His application status shows in process and my worry is that what happens if he turns 18 and his application is not finalised.
Has anyone had this sort of issue.
What is normal time for completion of Citizenship process for Minors.
Pls share and Guide.

His age is "locked In", so it will be processed as a minor applicant.

Cause i read here in the forum that if my son reached 18 and application is not finalised then he needs to apply as Adult?

Well, if you read that "in the forum" and think that is right, why did you come here looking for answer? Kind of pointless, don't you think?

Also, PMM is a hero member, with over 18,000 replies under his belt.. I am sure he knows what he is talking about..

You have nothing to worry about...
If the applicant is a minor at the time of application then his application will be treated as a minor regardless of the processing time it takes for the case.

Good Luck!

do u or anyone has got link to CIC website which clarifies the matter
2.6 If an applicant turns 18 during the processing of the application, the applicant is still assessed against the requirements for a grant of citizenship as a minor under subsection 5(2).

just checked status from CIC website and found the following
"We sent you letter on 15th June to provide some documents,If you have not provided the documents provide the same as soon as possible. If you haven't received the letter pls wait as the letter outlines exactly what is required."
First of all i ahven't received that letter so far and secondly any idea what documents might be required.
