No mean to offend anybody! My apologies!
And with all my respect, what you are talking about is referred to those who accumulate 3 years exactly on Oct 11.

But show me these people!

In this case, the day is not counted coz by the time they apply, the day is not finished yet, so can't be put to complete 3 years. So, definitely, cic wants us to make sure, we qualify the day before application.

But... if by Oct 11 you have 3 years Plus, you have all right to file the papers.

Does it make sense?
hopefully as what you said, i told agent i landed in June 2014 and asked her, she told me better hold to sign on 12th, lets wait and see how the calculation form shows then, we have waited for that long, it does not matter for one day or two, just make sure gather all your docs and make sure there are no mistakes or errors when filling the forms, good luck everyone.

Do you guys think we can ask the IRCC Twitter account about Oct 11 vs Oct 12?

It is pretty simple. Being eligible the day before the date you put down on your application translates to "you can date your application with a date equivalent to the day after day 1095". If Oct 11th is your day 1095, you need to wait one more day.

Lol thank you, I agree with this version of interpretation. Have explained this numerous time. A lot of people are confused and 11 vs 12 has become the biggest debate.

It’s just like when the whole world was arguing about that dress if it’s black or white or blue & brown! :)

Because it’s call center staff, not immigration officers or lawyers.

Anyhow, I think when one starts filling out online calculator, there is a field of the date you will sign your application, put October 11th, if all goes well and it says you are eligible, go for it!

Hi All,

I have been commuting to work in the US daily for the past 1 year and it is counted as 0 day absence on Physical presence calculator for each same day return and also for each "next day" return to Canada. Now my question is, will I be required to get the Police Certificates from US while applying for Citizenship? Can someone please let me know.

100% agree! The key words are "if Oct 11th is your day 1095"
If it's let's say it's # 1096, you don't have to wait an extra day.

Dear all,
Just 2 quick questions ( will have more later on for sure ;) ) -:-

I became a PR on July 27, 2013. In 2014, 2015 & 2016, I was in Canada for 340 days in each year.

In 2017 I was in Canada for 140 days. I am out of canada since May 20th 2017 till now.

In total I have 1358 days since I became PR to Canada.

Q1. My confusion is since I was in Canada for 140 days (as oppose to 183 days) only in this year, am I still eligible to apply after Oct 11?

Q2. Also do I need to be in Canada to apply if I am eligible?

Thanks Fellas.

Hi so when i renewed my PR i was asked to send all pages of my passport. Now it says biographical page can someone break it down. Do i need to still send all pages?

Why not just sign in oct 12 and ship on the 11th? Is that allowed? It wont get to them till a weeks time anyways.

Biographical only. IRCC will automatically check CBSA entry/exit records and will go through your passport(s) during the interview after the citizenship test.

I tried asking multiple times on their Facebook page, but received no official reply.

No harm in tweeting it. I don't have a Twitter account. Please let us know if they reply to you.

Hi there,
I have a question for experts. We need to send bio pages of all of our passport covering the past 5 years. After issuing my current passport, the government cut the corner of my old passport (to show it is invalid). is this going to be an issue? I do not have a copy before the corner was cut off.

Thank you
