You need to scan some persnal IDs before you fill it because they ask for that in step 3 of the application

in addition, you can attach rent receipt or bank statements showing the payment (cheque or whatever). unless you have paid cash and did not take any receipt.

Hey thank you very much for your reply,,,,, in the past 4 years i only had a trip to my family in UAE and i already put their address in the abcenses section when I did the online calculator. I am sending my application around Jan 16th...

Funny because of the flood of information here about the RQ, I already prepared most of my documents for RQ in case I got it, I will request my health records since I arrived to Canada ( 5 years ago) by the end of this month so I have them ready


The only thing i am missing is the signed letter from my previous landlord where i lived for almost a year and half there. i tried calling him but his phone seems dead or he changed his number. He didnt own the property he was just running it for some management


I am thinking to request the history of my phone bills from Fido... i didnt keep all the bills from before... they told me it will take like 2 weeks to get them and will cost 140 $ ( i am ok with that as long as things will move with my application )


I didn't pay any utilities bills because in both address where i lived before and where I live now , rent is inclusive ... I rent a room only

Yes that was my case.. I paid cash because he didn't accept cheques . Even Now it is same situation but at least i have tons of letter , statements , medical records and social assistance statements have my old address

Sharing Important Information -- New TIPS to everyone Applying in 2014

1. Guys actually I sent my application on 31st Dec 2013 and in my Tips I mentioned that make a COPY of whole package before you send. It worked out for me.

After I sent my application, I was again looking at my all documents which I sent and I found out that I made a silly mistake on ONLINE RESIDENCE CALCULATOR, it was signed but date was empty.

2. I called CIC and mentioned this issue. CIC agent told me that in this case your whole family application will be returned.

3. He told me to save time, what you need to do is send whole application again with information missing. Right now applications are processing for September 25th, so it will take 3-4 month when your application will open and eventually returned to you. So do not wait till your application return and just send another one. So you will only lose 1 day.


Trust me, that TIPS I have mentioned is Important, even though I checked and re-checked multiple times, I missed out this so I sent my application Yesterday again.

Thanks for sharing. I 100% concur with the tip on making a copy of the answered application form for your own files. Never know when you'll be needing to "review" what you wrote down.

Any one has tips on followings?

if the applicant's nature of work is "Investment" such as "Rental property/Holding share with Corporation" what should be under Work/education and Employer section in 6.F? I am not clear about self-employed term would be appropriate or not?
Self-employed means you have to have a business which is registered with City with HST etc. (Ref. to CRA website). CRA has option to declare income under Investment/Rental Income etc..

I am not sure if the correct word would be such as: "Work as an Investor" under Work/Education and then put little details on activity such as" Manage rental property under employer?

Am just curious....Is there any reason why people require citizenship urgently? I mean I know once you meet the current requirements you just need to apply cos of all the changes with the whole immigration process but I wont really send another application for citizenship and pay another fee if I made a minor error; will just wait it out; plus sometimes these minor mistakes are ignored depending on who is attending to your file / application.... its not like you are going to be kicked out of the country...

what is CSBA?I thought in application, cic ask for our consent to get the entry dates from CSBA directly.Is there something else we should request?
