citizenship application outside of Canada

Hello, can we apply for citizenship if we are outside of Canada. I meet the physical presence days it's 1200 days during the last five years. I am visiting my family and have to stay with them for 3-4 months. I was just planning to apply for citizenship. @forw.jane

There are people in the forum who did it. I am just not sure how they navigated the physical presence calculation which if you not in Canada you cannot specify end date and your calculation goes for a toss. You can search the forum for such cases. Many come to Canada for 2-3 days, submitted their application and left. I find the second option better.

Hi, you can check my signature for my entire timeline. The application has to be submitted from Canada and then you can leave. Expect delays if you plan to complete entire application outside.

You said the application has to be submitted from Canada then said it's delayed if applied from outside. So, you CAN apply from outside correct?

By that I meant. The main application has to be submitted in Canada. After that, the other processes till Oath can be done outside of Canada i.e. Fingerprinting, Citizenship Test, Police Clearance (if requested), Interview (if requested) and other formalities before Oath ceremony.
I hope I am clear with this now.

Thank you. However, I am seeing others say that you CAN send the main initial citizenship application from outside Canada and also because there is an online option as well. I just want to make sure I got factual information.

I am not aware of that situation then. Maybe things have changed now.
