Hi guys, I applied for citizenship in may2019, got AOR in August. I’m going for 1 week vacation and was wondering if I need to notify CIC about it? If so, how should I do it? Thank you
P.S. on CIC website says we need to notify them if we are out of country for 2 weeks or more. But some people say it’s better to notify every time you leave Canada even if it’s for a day.

Would like to hear your experience

The notification is mostly to ensure they do not schedule you for a test or oath right when you're temporarily outside the country, but I've seen reports of people who did but still got the "bad" news.
On the other side, I myself notified them when I took a 3 weeks vacation, got the test invitation while outside the country, and it took place 2 3 weeks after I went home. So, it worked perfectly for me, but I have no idea if telling them had any effect at all, or if I would have had the test invitation for the same day regardless of that.

Long story short : notify them if you want. You don't have to, but you can, it doesn't do harm. In all cases, if you're traveling soon, since you just got your AOR, there's a high chance your test is still some months away.

You don't have to notify them. You CAN if you WANT.

I took a 6 week vacation and I did not notify them. I had a close friend check my mail box once a week and I remembered to check my email and ecas! I was willing to reschedule my return flight if I got invitation for test though, because I had heard horror stories of people who rescheduled their test/oath and never got invited again (rare case but still possible).
