CIC website gives no clarity about funds required to be allowed entry (IEC)??

Hi!
I have received my POE letter and want to book my flight to Canada as soon as possible, however I haven't been given any information about the exact amount of money that needs to show on my bank statement of my bank account in order to be allowed entry. The CIC website only states that you need funds that'll last you for a three month residency when you arrive. Many other websites suggest you need 2500 Canadian dollars. But 2500 Canadian dollars surely doesn't last you three months to pay for rent and all other living expenses!
How much money does my bank statement need to show?

Help is much appreciated

CIC web site specifically lists the $2,500. Don't know where you're from - but here's the text for Australia.

They didn't even check my funds (that I know of) when I came, even though I had my bank statement ready and with me at the time of entry.

Just because they did not check your funds does not mean they will not check.

Rules are clear be able to show access to 2500 CDN and insurance for the duration of the IEC permit. 2500 will not last that long but thats the guidance and would be stupid to miss out by not following the guidance, same for the insurance where people turn up with 6 months and shout when they only get 6 months permit instead of a couple of years.

Agreed. Sorry for not being clear, I wasn't suggesting that you don't meet their requirements, just that it's not something you need to stress out over. (I stressed about everything unnecessarily.)

Thanks! Yeah I definitely don't want to risk anything. I have the 2500 CDN but am really confused by what it says on the CIC website under "Prepare for arrival": "You must present a statement of your bank account issued no more than one week before your departure for Canada. It must clearly show that you have enough money to support yourself for the first three months of your stay in Canada."
Since 2500 CDN clearly won't last me three months, I'm scared I'll be denied? It's like they give contradicting information and it doesn't add up...
