They don't care about us, come on guys it's more than 4 months now.

all they care about students and tourists they never say anything about families

Newsflash: Stephen Harper's team doesn't give a rats behind about anyone. Citizens or not. They just want their money... Sad but true. I mean, if you have to cheat at the polls to win, you're pathetic.

Neither does the other team, nor the other team, nor the team after that . . . They just want to be the party in "power". The "pension" for having even sat in the Prime Minister's chair for ONE day is outrageous!! Country of "family reunification"?? Don't fool yourself, that's what they called it after they realized that that bandwagon so happened to be passing by.

Of course they don't care about families. Students have to pay 2x the tuition, and this money goes to the universities. Temporary and skilled workers pay taxes and fill jobs that we need. Families for the most part, just arrive and use our social services without contributing much to our country, which is why they're limiting # of parents/grandparents who can arrive.

Look at all the news reports regarding the strike, not one news outlet mentions family class sponsorships, they only talk about students, temporary workers, etc.

Coz that's what makes the noise, Canadians feeling the chill for money NOT coming in and if you mention about families, its NOT worth it coz only limited amount of people are allowed to have families here

Unless you spew bitumen, they don't care about you.

Cities care about their tourism industry.
Universities worried about lost tuition money.
Stingy companies are worried sick about their cheap foreign labour.

Throwing families into turmoil is only a minor casualty, as it is not seen to be profitable.

yea ok but these intl students and temporary workers after getting their pr will want to get married some day and many of them will go back "home" to get married..then what will the govt do?

funny thing is its easier for an intl student to bring his wife over than it is for a citizen and a pr to sponsor his wife! and the intl student spouse work permit is easy to get...something doesnt make sense...

They will grant more people PR. It's sad and disgusting, but our government DOES NOT CARE about the family unit or about people. They care about numbers and money. Plain as day. Think Kevin O'Leary but 10 times worse.

You are right. This government really do not care about families. They go by the numbers. It sucks and I am tired of this BSht but don't know how to shoot in my foot.

Its actually 3 times the tuition.
And of course they won't care about the family class, no money there.

Yes, also as we have already paid fees so now it doesn't matter for them at all. Why they are going to care for family class. :( That's why they are giving preference to students and visitors.

They should just jack up the price for family sponsorship, I think probably the fees will go up for sure and I don't mind even paying the fees 2 times or even 3 times but please end this strike. We need our families.
