I have graduated from CANADA back in 2001 and that is mentioned in my application and my diploma is issued from St. Clair College in Ontario and is attested from ministry of education in Ottawa.
I have submitted my documents to CIC office last August for the skilled worker program which was still active then, and included a copy of my diploma and all of the other required ENDLESS applications, forms, documents, certificates, photos, and fees.

After four months, I got all of my papers back with a rejection for a reason of not submitting the educational credential assessment!!!!! although it is clear in the application where I ticket that I studied in Canada and do not require that.

Now the program on the old scheme has closed and GOOD LUCK for me on the new express entry scheme.

My question is since it is clearly a mistake from their end, is there a way for me to go around this? I have sent them many emails but they do not respond back???

Hey yhassoun,
how long has it been since you've mailed to CIC? Did 45 days timeline expired already?

Please don't give up and stand for yourself. CIC must respond and at least give explanations to you.

Hi,

Each credentials assessment organization has their own system where they send the documents directly to CIC. First you send your documents to them and they send the result to CIC. I beleive this is what happened to you , CIC don't accept education documents from you they accept it from credential organization directly.

check this website for more information and contact them if necessary before applying again http://canalliance.org/index.en.stm

Hi Arika and thanks for responding to my inquiry. Actually I have not mailed them, I have e-mailed them to their email: "Question@cic.gc.ca" and it has been nearly 1 month.

Is it a requirement that I mail my letter to them by courier? and if so based on your experience do I need to submit all the documents again along with the mail or wait for their reply and see. Because re-mailing the whole application again to them requires new police certificates, new bank letters, new bank draft which is an extra cost that I do not want to have if the program is shut down permanently without exceptions.

Appreciate your advise

Thanks

I beg your pardon but you are wrong, I memorized their website and it clearly says the below:

"Who needs an ECA?
If you have a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate, you do not need to get an ECA."

You can check it on the cic website under: english-> immigrate -> skilled-> assessment

sorry I am not allowed to post the link

Hi there
Sorry to learn about your situation.

Please raise a case specific enquiry (CSE).

https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

State that Education Credentials Assessment is not applicable for Canadian degree so you did not send it. This is not supposed to be a cause for rejection.

Include your application receiving date, return date(as per letter).

Best regards
Desertfox

He is saying he studied in Canada. He doesn't require ECA at all.

Many thanks to you, did not know I can do that. It has been a month since I received the documents, do you know if there is a due date that I should object before? I am afraid I might have crossed that.

Please Correct me if I am wrong here. In my understanding education requirements and credits change from year to year. Even WES credentials are not valid for more than a certain period of time. WES credentials done before 2008 is not valid.
you had graduated in 2001 which is more thsn 10 years back. May be that's the issue. In that case they wanted the credentials even from a Canadian institute must be verified by a credential agency.

Hi dear,

May I know what is your progress of the situation? Does CIC accept yr explaination and reconsider your case? I have the similar situation and now waiting for the returned package. pls kindly share your experience. Thx
