Dear Readers,

i have a very simple question is I applied my citizenship file along with my two minor child on May 4th, 2013, on CIC website there is no record for my file received or not.

I post my citizenship file via regular posting method, so that I don't have a proof of they received my documents or not. so after waiting 3 full month of period, should I send a new file? is there any other way to did they received my file or not?

Thanks for your valuable advice.

Sorry to hear about your frustration. I want to inform you that it's typical for CIC to take more than a couple of months to send acknowledgment of receipt, so don't lose hope yet. I would have advised you to send your application via registered mail, at the least, but it's too late for that.

Keep checking online using your client id (the 8 digit number on your permanent resident card, without the dash) and your biographical information. Once your data is entered in the system, you should be able to see that your application was received.

I would also suggest the following app (if you have an iPhone or iPad, it will save you lots of time) once your information is in the system. This app will allow you to check your ECAS status with one click! And bypass all the first few screens and get to the detailed status:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cicappstatus/id654435465?ls=1&mt=8

Otherwise just be patient. Others have reported information showing up 3-4 months after being submitted. Keep an eye on this however, you don't want to wait too long. Maybe if no information shows up in the next 4-6 weeks, it may be time to refile.

Good luck with your application!

I would call the CIC call Center first before thinking anything else if I was in your case.

I totally agree. I think they are working on applications received early in May at this moment.

No worries, amanshah21! It happened to me as well and took them around 3 months to have my file created. Perhaps in about two weeks or so, you should be able to see your status online.
Here was my post on this topic:

Some good news for you, though it's sad CIC is this slow. Call centre mentioned to a friend that they are currently mailing acknowledgement for applications received April 23. Give it three more weeks before sending a second one.
