Hello everyone, this is probably my nth time posting this topic but I just wanna seek information. I got my PR last July. Got my passport with immigrant visa back and COPR. I decided to land at CIC Edmonton. I called CIC the moment I received my passport and COPR back. The agent said it's gonna be 6-8 weeks wait, and this Tuesday (September 08, 2015) will be the sixth week and still haven't received a call back from CIC Edmonton. Is this normal to wait for almost 6 weeks for a call back? Or should I expect a call back between the 6th-8th week? Is there anyone here waiting for a call back from CIC Edmonton who is under Provincial Nominee Program? I hope someone here can at least enlighten me. Please and thank you.

I don't specifically know the answer to your question, but my experience with CIC's estimated wait times is that they're correct at the time they tell you - but then by the time that's up it might be a whole different situation. For example when I was waiting for my BCPNP the processing time was originally 14-16 weeks. When I emailed them after 18 weeks they replied that the processing times had changed and they couldn't respond because I was inside the processing window (it was now 4-6 months). Again after 6 months had passed they had changed the times to 10-12 months, so I still couldn't get any info.

So I guess what I'm saying is that CIC saying 6-8 weeks probably doesn't mean anything. I'd call them again to check and see what they say.

I'm guessing there's no way you can get to a border and just do the crossing to land? I know that's not as easy from Edmonton as it is from most other cities, but it would definitely be quicker...

Crossing the border will be quicker that's true, but I waited for almost 6 weeks already so there's 2 more weeks to wait. Just wondered if the call back will be between the 6th and 8th week. Thank you for the response though. Very much appreciated.

hi,

no one knows if they will call you within the time frame they have told you but most likely they will, since you have waited 6 weeks already im sure you can get a call anytime now a days.
i will suggest you sit tight and wait for their call within the next 2 weeks but if nothing comes out then give them a call back and if you have to wait longer again, flag poling is your fastest and best option and it won`t affect you in the future if you wanna visit the US because its only an administrative refusal but you need a car to get to carway or coutts border, public transporation is not accessible all the way there, its only till lethbridge.
good luck.

Thank you for the very informative response. I really hope they'll call me within the next 2 weeks.
