So finally here is the announcement folks :)

I wonder if this new rule will apply to applications received within the last month but not yet begun processing...???

Andy,

any other changes ...???

*tear* IT'S HERE, IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!

Excelent news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot for sharing, I've been waiting for this for months, now we just need to wait until they put the new forms and maybe the new thresholds for the IELTS mark, just to make sure.

The new rule will apply to those who package arrive on January 2, if your papers arrived before then you are with the old rules.

Another week or two and we should have all the updates available on the site. Best Christmas gift for all of us waiting ;)

Andy, when do you think we can get the new documents and eligibility criteria updated? I will complete my 2 yrs this 24th. I have everything ready, but am not sure if even if I post it on 24th, I doubt it might reach them before Jan 2nd. as there are many holidays in between. :(

CEC114,

I would still encourage you to send in December ...as with the new rules, comes new forms ..and who knows ..other criteria for IELTS etc etc .. if you manage to send your application in December .. you get preference in terms of processing over Jan applicants ..

Think about it...

cec4111,

It should be updated in a week or two but definitely it will be in before 24 Dec. BTW, there is nothing you should be worried about. All that the changes will bring is reduction in the Canadian experience requirement. Once you complete 2 years, you should go ahead and send the application (with the forms and rules prevalent as on that date).

Thanks Andy and Bahadur, I also need some help calculating my 2 years, I landed in Canada on Dec 21st 2010 and started working the same day. I have offer and pay stubs from 21st. I have 2 unpaid days in between when I changed the employers ( Sat and Sunday). Do you think I will be ok by Dec 24th? I should also get the employment reference letter dated Dec 24th 2012.

Please advice

Hi CEC,

I think you are good but Its advisable to have 1 week buffer ..in case VO does some wrong calculations !!! But I guess you can proceed.

Andy,

what do you suggest?

This. Is. Awesome.

This is great news ! Atlast they made this official.

cec4111,

I agree with Bahadur. One should definitely keep a cushion of minimum 1 week to calculate the experience.
