Child Sponsorship

Hi,

We applied for our child PR sponsorship from Canada and we got a mail stating it has been approved and later another letter on dec 21 2017 stating it has been sent to London office for further processing as i am based in dubai and the mother is in Canada.
today is 17th Jan we havent received any request for passport, since it is a child 3 year old there wouldn't be any background check or PCC requirement, we have already submitted the medicals too.

Any idea how long would it take for the passport request and hope if the Mississauga office says it is approved for sponsorship there is only the formality for stamping the PR on her passport.

Can any one help advise

When did you first apply to sponsor the child? Typically the sponsorship process is around 6 months end to end.

How ever the letter which we received over the email said it has been sent to London for further processing . The letter was dated 21 Dec 2017.

Just curious on the time frame and further if it has already been approved I hope the London office will only request for passport stamping right ?

My lawyer says the sponsorship has been approved but the child sponsorship is still under scrutnity

The entire application hasn't been approved yet. What has been approved so far is sponsorship only. So yes - your lawyer is right. You're about three months in - so probably 2-3 months yet to wait before you have approval of the entire application.

As stated in the mail you received, the sponsor was approved, not the application. Expect a few more months.
