Child Citizenship inquiry please

A divorced couple
The dad applied for citizenship application and getting it soon
The kid lives with the mom and she said she is applying for herself and for the kid.
Now she is not planning to apply
Anyway the dad can pass the citizenship to his son once the dad gets his application done ?
If yes , how ?

The child was born before dad became Canadian. Hence citizenship won't be passed to child automatically. The child needs to go through the application process and meet the eligibility criteria.

Yes you can if you have legal custody of the child. Citizenship application form 5(1) minors needs to be used in this case.
