I was searching for answers but couldn't find as I am on my phone.

I will be landing at Pearson next Friday the 12th. I just want to make sure I've got what I need:

1. CoPR plus copy
2. Passport of course
3. Travel insurance until end of
March

Need I add more points to the list above, given that I will be landing with the following items:

A) Two suit cases of clothes
B) Xbox (B4 for this?)
C) MacBook (B4 for this?)
D) iPhone, iPad, Apple TV (B4 for this?)
E) Set of golf clubs

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

My understanding was that you only needed a B4 when it was being shipped and not coming with you as personal belongings B4 goods to follow.I will be at the airport to Friday . Good luck and welcome back to Canada.

Every thing you have mentioned is personal belongings and personalty i would just put them and the amount on your declaration form.

What about importing a car, does this also go on the B4 form in addition to all of the RIV requirements?

if you plan to import the car at a later date, it must go on a "goods to follow" b4 form. essentially, you will have 2 b4 forms if you are bringing items at a later date. you will have 1 form for items with you, and 1 form for "goods to follow". the car needs to be listed on the "conveyance" section on the "goods to follow" form.

Importing is pretty simple, and it requires some background paperwork. all the information is on the RIV website. the process is initiated at the border, and finalized online later, once the payment is made, car meets specifications and is registered with the provence. there is 45 days from day of import to complete it. if exporting from the US, the export process got a bit more complicated, though once over the initial hurdle, it's quite simple at the border.

no that's not true. if you are bringing a large amount of personal and household items with you, a b4 form must be filled out to avoid paying duty and taxes on everything. this includes, clothing, electronics, jewelry, home goods, etc. it's really only not needed if the amount of items being brought over is minimal (ie: only 2 suitcases of clothes). I would definitely recommend the op to claim his electronics and sporting gear on a b4 form, since they are higher values than average homegoods.

if there are "goods to follow", then 2 separate b4 forms are needed.

4 yo MacBook and 500 dollar golfing gear. Just to be safe I will fill out a b4 form for it.
Thanks. I suppose googling b4 form Canada immigration would work.

Yes i agree if bringing lots of stuff ., Sometimes i see people come off the planes with boxes and boxes of stuff. Better to be safe than sorry . Fill out that form and if they don't want it no harm done. Keep that bit of info for further reference .. :D
