Cheap airline tickets? Want mom to visit.

I posted this on another forum but I wasn't getting any responses there. Hoping I have better luck here.

Hi there, so as most US citizens I have waited my whole life to turn 21. I obviously did not ever invision that I would be in another country though. Well it will almost be 2 years on March 15th since I last saw my moms face or had a hug. She does not know how to use a computer so we only communicate by phone and mail. I miss her so badly as she is my best friend and the only thing I could think to want for my 21st birthday is to see my mom again and since I can not go home (applied inland) I need to find her a way to come here. Bad news though cheapest tickets I could find were $966 for one roundtrip ticket.

Now I know most of you know what it is like to search for cheap airline tickets in order to visit loved ones so I figured I would ask for help here. Do you know where I can find a cheap and affordable ticket for her to come here?

I would like her to be here the day before my birthday so anyday before March 1 and have her stay for a week or two. We live near St. John's airport at YYT so she would land there directly or maybe she could fly to Halifax or another airport and then St. John's. She can not take the ferry because it is closed for the winter. And preferably she would fly from Charlotte but could also leave from either Roanoke Virginia or Greensboro North Carolina too. Whichever is cheaper.

Really I just do not know where to go from here but I need to find her a way here soon and preferably cheap. Also the easiest way possible as she has never flown and is scared to do so. If any of you can help me find a deal for maybe $500-600. I would be very VERY happy.

I found as low as C$750 on expedia.ca. Put in Charlotte and St. Johns and select the 28th of Feb and back on March 14. It is selecting one way with Continental and back with United if that matters.

No that doesn't matter. That is actually a really great deal. Thank you so so much. I feel relieved now.
I knew someone here would be able to find us a good deal.

You can play with the dates a bit more and see if you can get it even cheaper.

That is exactly what I plan to do. Seems like I will be busy most of the night but if I find the right deal, it will be completely worth it. I am also checking other sites like orbtiz, priceline, cheapoair, etc. Wish me luck. This would be a great birthday gift.

You may have already thought of this, but remember that she will need a passport to visit you. If she does not have one, applying now would ensure that she has it before she goes.

Yeah she has had her passport for 3 or 4 months now. She was going to come for the wedding but we realized she probably wouldn't get a passport in time so she wasn't able to come. But during the summer I told her to apply so that way when I find a good ticket sometime, she will be able to go right away. Thanks for the reminder though.

I really hope you get to see your mom and home soon too. This process can be really tough at times and especially without family and home. I love my hubby but sometimes I wish I didn't have to make one side unhappy. If I was at home instead of here, I would want to be with my hubby and while I am here I want to be with my family. Don't think I will ever be happy in that sense. But happy in other ways. It is unrealistic to think I could have it both ways but boy wouldn't that be nice.
