Hi all,

CHC Warsaw VO has sent an email requesting copies of all passport pages for my spouse's permanent residence application. When I check the status online, it shows the third line as "3.Medical results have been received." Here is the email we received:

"This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

Please be advised that in order to continue the processing of your application, you are requested to provide a copy of all pages of your passport by mail, e-mail (warsaw-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca) or by fax (48 22 584-3194). If a copy of passport is sent by e-mail - scan your passport pages in PDF (JPG is also acceptable). Our system will accept attachments up to 9MB only. If you need to compress your documents, please do so in ZIP format (this is the only format accepted by our system). There must be at least two blank pages in your passport. The passport should be valid for the next twelve months and should be the passport that you intend to use to enter Canada. Ordinary passports are the only type of passport into which a permanent resident visa may be inserted. Diplomatic, official and special passports are not acceptable."

I am confused as to what does requesting copies of passport pages means? Is this the "Passport request" or will they be requesting the passport later?

Thanks for your responses :)

Is your spouse Polish? If so that is a visa-exempt country, so no passport request. They often ask for these passport scans from visa-exempt countries as a last step before finalising the application, so looks like your wait is almost at an end. :D

If not visa-exempt, then probably just more checking before his/her PPR.

Hi Thanks for your reply. No my wife is not Polish. She is actually Russian and her VO for permanent residence application is Warsaw. :)

Then she would be receiving a PPR at some point, probably just more checking.

Mustang2222 when did you start the application process? And when her papers arrived to warsaw if it's not a secret of course ;)

I sent in my sponsorship application on March 28, 2015
My sponsorship application was approved on May 15, 2015
Warsaw received application for further processing on May 28, 2015.
Right now the status indicates " In Process" and Medical results have been received.

Now we have the above email.

Thanks

Aquakitty - what do you mean by a 'visa-exempy country'?
I am being sponsored by my Canadian wife. I'm Polish and I just have got the same email, asking for copies/scans of my passport (plus a proof for my wife to look for jobs and an apartment).
What does it mean? Is that the last step for the VWO or are they going to ask for my original passport later on?

Thank you.

Please keep us posted of the steps.... I'm curious to know if they will ask for Passport right after this, and what's the typical duration after the copies are submitted. -Thank you :) and wishing you a speedy process completion.
