I DONT THINK THIS IS TRUE N CHC FOLLOW THIS,
- What is the general processing milestones and timeline?
1)After the file is transferred to Islamabad Embassy it collects dirt for 10-12 months.
2)Then they start the initial review of the application.
3)They request to re-fill some forms along with an updated police clearence certificate.
4)They request for Re-medical after some time. (It could come with the forms request as well)
5)If the background checks are clear and medical is clear, they request for Passport to be sent to the Embassy.
6)Once they stamp the Visa on the passport, they return it to you.

Whole process takes about 14-16 months for wife cases and 16-20 months for husband cases. But now their is no definite timeframe and they don't seem to care that it's a husband or wife case.

Sometimes it takes more time if the case is complicated and nikkah only. They ask for the Ruksati to be done or else they put the file in the interview queue. So keep collecting relationship proof such as call history, chat logs, emails, text messaging logs, gift receipts, money transfer receipts, visit pictures, visit tickets/boarding pass. They can ask for more proof if they feel like the proof of relationship is not enough.

Assalamoalaikum everyone. I have been a silent reader for quite sometime now. My wife applied for my sponsorship in august 2012 and we received the acceptance letter in September 2012. Ever since then i haven't heard anything from them and it's been a little over 18 months now. My medical expired almost 6 months ago and my Ecas status never changed from application received. My file is in Islamabad. My wife stayed with me for 4 months after our marriage then went back, stayed in Canada for 4 months then came back to Pakistan. She went back again for 2 months and has been staying with me since September 2013. I asked my lawyer if it's okay for her to stay till may and he said yea it won't be a problem. Also i confirmed with a few friends who have been through the process and they told me that they have no way of finding out which country she's in. So, i wanted to know if that's true and also i see a lot of people sharing the same timeline as me received remeds and addition documentation request but i have not heard anything since the day we applied. What should i do and what does it mean? Thanks.

I've been advised and seen members advise other members to always wait until you reach your 1 year mark before ordering notes you will have a better insight on where your file is currently at :)

Thanks alot for helping. basically now I have to wait till Eid-ul-Fitar lol then I can apply for notes.

:D LOL... true!!!

Aoa,what do you think and what opinion of lawyers about this? how long A permanent resident can live outside Canada during process of spouse sponsorship?did anyone ever ask their lawyer?

Could you please tell me that your wife is citizen or permanent resident of Canada? What's your lawyer said about how long A permanent resident can live outside Canada?it doesn't effect on process of application ??

Its an grey area. A citizen obviously can live outside Canada for as much as they like. However, even then you are susceptible to question. That is why some citizen who lived out for too long get asked to fill a residency questionnaire (RQ). Canada government doesn't want to pay for you if you are not paying them (tax). PR is worst, even to get a citizenship you have to wait approx 1095 days to apply. On top of that you sit in Pakistan (for example) for a year of a time they wont be too happy. Your allow to visit, recommended 3 months.
