mrashid123 said:I just took a quick look through New Delhi thread.... there r many ppl on there who are still waiting for their passports back with visa (ND sends PPR near the beginning of the process).... I see a lot of cases from Oct/Nov 2012 that are still waiting.....
I just wanted to point this out cuz many of us on here seem to have this misconception that Canadian govt favours India over Pak (typical mentality of most pakis).... We need to stop comparing ourselves to others!.... has anyone noticed the timelines for US.... they're longer than a year (26 for LA, 22 for NY)... Tel-Aviv (Can govt is seen to favour Israel) is at 10 months!.... even some African countries have long timelines... so its not only limited to Pak n other muslim countries.... CIC is having problems all across the board!... Marriage fraud is not only limited to Pak n India n China... its a bigger problem from other countries such as Cuba n Mexico... even Europe there have been many marriage fraud cases... there have been many stories in newspapers bout marriage fraud from countries NOT including India or Pak
Bottom line is CIC is having problems all across the board n there needs to be an investigation about wuts going on there!
I agree that CIC is having problems all across the board and may be it is the most inefficient government department currently with backlogs and delays in almost every type of application. Having said that , there has not been such a dramatic increase in processing time (from 6-9 months in 2008 to 32 months in 2013) anywhere else. If we go by the posted processing times, 80% cases in India were finalised in 12 months so the exceptions noted on this forum must be the ones from the remaining 20% only. USA processing time does not matter much in my view when US citizens can easily go back and forth without even the need for a visitor visa. Singapore office which deals with 11 countries is currently 2nd with 28 months but the delay in that office is obviously due to the huge number of applications
Yes, the overall sponsorship process has hit a snag but it is also true that sponsorship applications for pakistani spouses are either being delayed intentionally or CIC does not care about inquiring in detail why the hell we are made to wait for such a long period.
MPs have restricted authorities, they cannot (based on my understanding) expedite a specific application but they are certainly capable of raising concerns about this cruel timelines for CHC ISB applicants provided there is a collective push by the applicants themselves.
May Allah help us in this matter
