i dont think its possible, maybe experience member can shed light on this. why dont you raise this question as topic in family class sponsorship, that way more people can reply. Because its a generic question irrespective to country based

I was going to CHC-Islamabad archives through google. I found some interesting things.

* In 2007 cases were being approved in 5 months. (compare that to 2013)
*There was no concept of "dust collection". Cases would in process within a month (2013 dust collection easily hits a year)
*Late 2008 cases were being approved close to 6-9 months. (straightforward ones)
*In 2009 there was a jump into double digits to 14 months (timeline increase?)
*2010 is when it all started . Some info out there say 18 months? 20 months? (maybe these jumps happened in the same year)
*2011 by the end of the year it was 23 months.
*Early 2012 was sitting at 26 months.
*Early 2013 it was approx 28 months.
*Going into 2014 with a colossal timeline of 32 months.

Few things I can think of which has led to the long wait times would be:

1) Law and order situation in Pakistan deteriorated significantly after 2007 and there has been less staffing in majority of the embassies in Pakistan since then. No country would want to risk their diplomats in a country where there is hardly any law and order so we know for a fact that CHC-I is short staffed. Also after 2007, rampant corruption became even more common in Pakistan thanks to the incompetent government at that time which has led to further scrutiny of applicants

2) Volume may have gone up quite a bit in past three or four years. This I think may be attributed to the fact that many baby boomer Pakistanis immigrated here in the mid 90s to early 00s with teenage kids. These kids now being marriage age have started getting married which may have led to the higher volumes. Just a hunch. I do not have concrete stats for this claim

3) Tories themselves want to discourage immigration of any sort from such third world countries

Just my 0.02 cents.

Assalam O Alikum Folks,

Hope that everybody will be fine and doing great. Its been a while since I have logged in. I need your suggestions on following:

1) Which Documents I need to take with me for Landing Procedure (apart from Visa + COPR) ?
2) Do I need to make & print the list of thing which i would be carrying ?
3) Is it better to fill-in Forms like B4 & B4A before landing ?

Your suggestions / advises would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You :)

Thank you for the 411 that is very helpful and intresting.

Thank you for the interesting 411.

CANNOT WAIT!
I have a friend who works in CIC and according to him the files in the OTT office are absolutely disorganized. Apparently all the files are just piled up in cardboard boxes all over the floor. He said there has been incidents when a file has been misplaced and forgotten about because of the huge volume of the cases they're receiving. If that's the case in Ottawa, imagine Islamabad -_- ???

Asslamualikum Outlandish,

Thank you for the insight that is horrible!

It's funny because recently I read that how important immigrants are to Canada in The Globe and Mail written Oct 2013. Below is a quote from the article.

"Canadians need immigration just as much as immigrants need a destination such as Canada. Immigration, as it turns out, is most likely the key to Canada’s prosperity."

Then why is this area of the governement so unorganized... the government should do something.
Maybe the media should be alerted.

Just my thoughts... it's upsetting so many members are waiting for years beyond the Pakistan timeline.

Wsalam.

Regarding documents those two are the important. But immigration may ask basic questions such as where you going? Name? Address?. At times they dont ask anything and just look at visa+copr and stamp it and your on your way.

You should make a basic list of what your carrying. It is always a good idea. If immigration offcier asks you can show him list instead of opening baggage

Regarding forms fill them out before
