salam, first of all congrat, you are near the completion of the process i wish the next day you get PPR inshallah and plz pray for me.

And the timeline i'm shocked i wish they have family so that they understand what we feel being away from our family.

TODAY I GOT A POST CANADA MAIL AT MY HOME IN CANADA.

IT IS FROM OTTAWA OFFICE HAVING A STAMP OF THE OTTAWA PILOT PROGRAM ON THE TOP..

THEY SEND BACK ORIGINAL OF MY AND MY FAMILIY'S NADRA FAMILY REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE FRC AND ONE MORE DOCUMENT. THE LETTER THEY SEND MENTIONS THAT COPIES OF THESE DOCUMENTS ARE KEPT AND WE ARE RETURNING THE ORIGINALS AS THEY ARE NOT NEEDED AT THIS MOMENT. BUT I AM CONFUSED WHY THEY DIDNT SEND ALL THE DOCUMENTS.

I GUESS I SHOULD B HAPPY THAT THEY ARE WORKING ON OUR FILES NOW.
ANY INFO ADDED FROM YOU ALL WILL BE HELPFUL.

lol...why would you do that...you should have done it at home and with males and females present...

the cic really does care about these things..so you should write an explanation...

Can you someone help me in answering some questionsI have in IMM5490E Sponsored Spouse form.

I don't understand the difference between questions 15 and 18 in

15. Was there a formal ceremony to celebrate/recognize marriage?
18. Was there a reception?

This is how my Nikah happenned:

1. Nikah at masjid in Pakistan where only male relatives were present
2. That same day as Nikah, we had a celebration of the Nikah where about 60 people were invited from both our families

Rukhsati is planned for next summer.

Can someone please tell me how to answer question 15 and 18 ?

answer is YES to both of ur question 15, yes formal nikkah cermoney was held in masjid.
question at yes there was nikkah reception of about 60 people

yes pple do nokah in masjid
that's a ritual
masjid is a holy place for muslim
and they can perform these religous duties there as well
you can write in ur cover letter that its a tradition in ur family
dnt hide that rukhsati is not done explain them that u ll update when rukhsati is due and u ll send them rukhsati photos and honeymoon photos after rukhsati

why give the cic the opportunity to cause you more problems? i would suggest to future applicants- do your nikkah were male and females are present...

yea that's a good suggestion
but in pakistan mostly there is a separation between male guests and female guests
As in our wedding

and almost all weddings I attended in pakistan
so I think y u should mention only male members
just write few of our family members instead of writing male members

Hey..yes this is good not to mention especially about male members ...u should make it ambiguous ...give them a general answer to their question ..in future if they really want to know who was present at ur Nikaah ceremony ..u can tell them ..right now it's in ur best interest NOT TO HIGHLIGHT ONLY MALE MEMBERS...

Answer 15: Yes. Ceremony was held at <place> on <date>. Approximately 60 people attended the ceremony including my sponsor <your name>, his family members person1 (father), person2 (mother), (name some more closed ones), other relatives, family friends and friends. My parents, siblings, relatives, friends and family friends also attended the wedding ceremony.

The marriage ceremony was performed in Islamic way.

I myself and my sponsor (<your name>) are muslims.

Answer 18: No. Reception will be held later next summer (if you know the date).

One of our friends did this on the internet then she arrived with more problems with a background problem with the law in USA so you must be careful of what you are doing In Sha Allah

Salam everyone, I have not been well since I arrived in Canada. But Thank Allah now it is all going ok they are almost done with Back Ground check and soon In Sha Allah all this will be in the past. NO. THEY DIDNT SEND THE NIKAH NAMA, BIRTH CRET, EDUCATIONAL TRANSCRIPTS OR ANYTHING ELSE. JUST ORIGINAL NADRA FRC AND ANOTHER ORIGINAL SUPPORTING DOC.
I AM CONFUSED ON THAT WHY THEY SENT SOME ORIGINALS AND NOT ALL.
