I have a few important questions about applying for my husband - i'm not sure if I'm allowed to ask those questions here, but he is also a Pakistani National (I'm a Canadian citizen)
We are almost done our application and want to submit ASAP, can someone either answer my questions or tell me where to ask? Sorry and thanks!
1. IS it mandatory to fill in the PDF forms electronically?
2. We have no additional dependants. Should we still sign and date form IMM 0008 and just put N/A on the form?
3. In the Family Class Sponsorship Guide Part 3: Country Specific Instructions (Pakistan in my husband's case) the checklist titled Appendix A Document Checklist - Immigrant states in item no. 12 (Identity and Civil Status Documents): For any family member who is a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident of Canada, send a photocopy of either:
-Citizenship Certificate
-Permanent Resident Card
-Record of Landing (IMM 1000) or Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292)
-Immigrant Visa
Is that referring to my citizenship documents? What if i lost my certificate and only have my Canadian passport and citizenship card to prove my citizenship?
4. Schedule A - Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) - You and each of your family members 18 years of age or older must complete their own copy of this form
What if my husband was unemployed for a period of time - how would he prove this? For his employment, if he lacks an employment letter, can company/project emails be used as supporting documents?
I hope I have not 'broken' any forum rules by posting here - I'm quite desperate to have these questions answered so that we can go ahead and submit application............3 years is a long enough wait.....thanks for any guidance you can offer.
ill try to help with whatever I can
1) yes try to fill your forms electronically because for some forms you validate them and it prints the barcode .. if you fill them by hand obviously you won't be able to validate but for region specific guide forms you will obviously have to fill them by hand.
2) YES send in every form even if it doesn't apply to you .. just cross it off and put NA .. this procedure also applies to those questions which aren't related to you for example in the sponsorship questionnaire the common law section isn't for you so you should cross off and put NA ..
in the background declaration form it asks about military service and if you check the guide to fill the forms it tells you to put "NONE" or " I have never been a part of military" something like that - do check the guide to fill the forms ..
3) for question 12 provide whatever you can .. ( I think thats what I did )
4) just state he was unemployed .. you don't have to prove but yes for the time he has worked, provide job letters or any other letter proving he works ..
